Original Items: Only One Set of 4 Available. This is a very nice collection of helmets from various time periods, but all originating from WWI and WWII. This is a wonderful lot to pick up if you are looking to either start collecting helmets or are just wanting to add these really nice examples to your already existing ones.

The following FOUR helmets are included in this lot:

- WWI American Produced Doughboy Helmet: This is a shell only, an original liner can be easily added if you wish! The heat stamp is unfortunately covered up by the texture repaint that added to the shell. The solid rivets is a solid indication that this is a U.S. produced example. There is minor surface rust and paint loss present, but the shell is still solid.

- WWI British Mark I Brodie Helmet: This is a shell only, an original British liner can be easily added if you wish! We do not know whether this was produced for American use or not, as there are no AEF identification marks present. The shell is in solid shape with almost all original paint intact.

- WWII British Mark II Brodie Helmet: This shell retains a partial liner and has a complete chinstrap. The liner band is stamped with the date 1941, and size 7 ⅛. There is a number 27 painted on the front in white and the helmet appears to have been originally painted black, probably for Police use. The interior still has some of the original OD green paint with spots of rusting present on both the inside and exterior. This comes as a wonderful research and restoration project!

-  WWII British Mark II Paratrooper Reissued to Norway: This is a wonderful and what appears to be complete British Mark II Paratrooper helmet with Norwegian Decal,indicating that this was reissued to a Norwegian soldier. Weapons and equipment that weren’t being used during the war were stockpiled for later use or sold to other nations, this is a prime example. The liner band dates the helmet to 1945.

Brodie Helmet
The Brodie helmet is a steel combat helmet designed and patented in London in 1915 by John Leopold Brodie. A modified form of it became the Helmet, Steel, Mark I in Britain and the M1917 Helmet in the US. Colloquially, it was called the shrapnel helmet, battle bowler, Tommy helmet, tin hat, and in the United States the doughboy helmet. It was also known as the dishpan hat, tin pan hat, washbasin, battle bowler (when worn by officers), and Kelly helmet. The German Army called it the Salatschüssel (salad bowl). The term Brodie is often misused. It is correctly applied only to the original 1915 Brodie's Steel Helmet, War Office Pattern.
